Enjoying the Little Things in Bottega Veneta’s Pre-Fall Collection

Sydney

— September 11, 2020 —

We recently set out in search of some much-needed sunshine and salty sea air with a boot full of Bottega Veneta and two professionally good-looking humans from Sydney. Varsha, a full-time angel, part-time model with the best life motto and Geirthana, a CPC-newcomer who thrives on being a really good pal to her chosen fam. What the day lacked in blue skies, it certainly made up for in rich convos and eye-catching ‘fits from Bottega’s Pre-Fall collection.

Lounged on rocks, toes dipped in the cool foamy sea, the day was also a friendly reminder to find solace in the small things. (Especially at a time like this.) This could be as picking up a Dr. Seuss book, as Varsha recommends, enjoying your morning coffee outside, as Geirthana is wont to do, or getting to know two sparkly humans below, as implored by yours truly.

Name: Varsha Kumar
Nickname: Depends on the person!
Star sign: Libra

Elevator pitch (i.e. who you are and what you do?):
Hi, my name’s Varsha. I’m 18, I model, and I still don’t know how to adequately answer a “tell me about yourself” question.

What are some easy ways you spark joy in your life on a daily basis?
Mindfulness more so than ever, sharing love, and remembering the moment.

What are life’s greatest and most simple pleasures?
Lying down and getting cozy after a tiring day, cruising on a long road with music blasting, and hugs!

When do you feel most like ‘you’?
When I’m with loved ones or doing something I love.

What has been the most fun/memorable road trip of your life? Why?
I go on road trips every few months with my brother whenever we’re both free. I don’t really have any specific memory, but road trips always feel like a moment trapped in time.

Who or what is most important to you in life? Why?
My family is the most important to me. I’m definitely very fortunate, but my family are the closest people in my life and they’re home.

Best book, movie and playlist recommendations?
Something like Oh, The Places You'll Go by Dr. Suess. Lighter reads feel really calming right now. For movies, Superbad is good for a laugh, on the other side, The Farewell made me BAWL. For music, I recommend listening to whatever makes you feel good!

What is your motto in life?
Things aren’t usually as heavy as they feel, keep on keeping on.

Name: Geirthana (pronounced “keeth-er-na”)
Nickname: Geirth
Star sign: Aries ♈️

Elevator pitch (i.e. who you are and what you do?):
I'm a Tamil/first gen Australian, an emerging artist and model from Eora Nation in Sydney, and currently just figuring out what it means to be authentically ‘me’.

What are some easy ways you spark joy in your life on a daily basis?
Waking up before my 7am alarm, having my morning coffee in the sun and just cleaning my space reminds me to slow down and be present.

What are life’s greatest and most simple pleasures?
Nothing beats walking in nature by yourself with no music and no distractions.

When do you feel most like ‘you’?
When I’m simply doing nothing without any life or work pressures: Watching my boyfriend play video games, journaling, reading, watching the world go by on a train ride.

What has been the most fun/memorable road trip of your life? Why?
It's gotta be a tie between the times I visited Cairns and Hobart, but to be fair both of those trips I was visiting my high school friend whilst she was studying, so she hosted for a couple days whilst we ran amuck; reliving memories but also creating new ones.

Who or what is most important to you in life? Why?
Friends are one of the most important parts of life, they’re the family you choose: The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb. I'm always trying to be a better friend and show up for people in ways that I can. Boundaries are important, too.

Best book, movie and playlist recommendations?
Book: Minor Feelings by Cathy Park Hong. Movie: Sorry to Bother You by director Boots Riley, Song(s): Kanye West samples COMPLETE on Spotify

What is your motto in life?
My motto for 2020 would be this quote from Ron Swanson in Parks and Rec:

“Blueprints for the future are a fool’s errand... One day, maybe this year or the next, you’re gonna be somewhere else. So enjoy yourself now.”
