There’s an old wives’ tale that dressing for autumn means dressing to match the clouds. But here at CPC, we believe in dressing despite it. Can’t you tell by our aura? Because it should never be your spirits that match the cold, only a two-piece Chanel tweed set.
Because to dress with puffery is to embrace the bold and the dramatic, regardless of season or setting. On a balmy Sydney afternoon, our new friend Lillian Sperling makes a compelling case for this sartorial sensibility. Shot by Marco Di Stefano and styled by Monique Moynihan, she drifts between heavenly Phillipa Signorelli pleats and Bottega Veneta, leaving us yearning for more magic (and Dorothy-red everything) in our everyday wardrobe.

Where do you live and where do you call home?
I currently live in Sydney but grew up in Brisbane!
What does your ideal day in your hometown look like?
Coffee at Darvella’s in Bulimba and a stroll down Brisbane’s river walk, followed by dinner at James St with the gals.
Was there any particular person you grew up with who helped shape your worldview in a big way?
My Mum and Grandma, two of the most powerful women I’ve ever known. I love them so much.
What is your idea of true happiness?
Being content and grateful for whatever stage of life you’re in.
What’s the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
Coffee, always coffee.
And before you go to bed at night?
Chamomile tea and a good book.
What's your earliest fashion memory?
My 12th birthday party when my mum recreated an entire fashion show in our backyard complete with a photo shoot at the end of the runway as well as makeup and hair styling for all my friends.
Favourite colours to wear?
Honestly, I love an all black moment but I’ve discovered I also love wearing red or green.
Favourite season to get dressed in?
Winter for the layering aspect.
What do you put on when you want to lift your mood?
Any song featured in a classic 2000’s rom-com movie.
What’s the most interesting or random thing you’ve learned recently?
I recently learnt that your skin accounts for 10 to 15 percent of your body weight…

Yellowjackets.

When I’m surrounded by nature but more specifically a body of water. Literally any type: ocean, bay, river, canal…

Travelling more for work and taking every new opportunity presented to me!
