Rossana Latallada

Sydney

— June 19, 2020 —

Rossana is a certified stunner from Durazno—"a very small, very nice and very chill city in Uruguay"—who currently calls Sydney home. While her upbringing helped her to value certain things, she believes her day-to-day lived experiences have been paramount in making her see the world in a different way.

For her, the most rewarding part of working as a model is meeting new people and learning more about the culture of the countries she visits. The most challenging part is being away from her loved ones in Uruguay, an especially difficult byproduct of her work given how tight she is with her fam.

A spiritual person, she believes in energies a lot and possesses a very positive, energetic and happy outlook on life. The best advice she’s ever received was from her father at the start of her career. He said: “Be yourself always. Never change your way of being, because that is what is going to take you very far. Never stop shining.” We’re not crying, you are.

During isolation, she learned to spend more time with and for herself. And also that drawing and dancing makes her feel great. (Feel you!). Outside of those lessons, the coolest thing she’s learned recently is the simple fact that reading a book can change the way you see the world. If pressed, the one meal she’d eat for the rest of her life would be Fideos Con Tuco, a “Uruguayan meal like pasta.” Mmmmm!

While she’s not sure she’s a ~morning person~ per say, when she wakes up early, she’s full of energy and is likely to enjoy the day more than if she’d pressed snooze. Of an evening, she unwinds by putting on her headphones, listening to 90s music and drawing with a glass of wine in hand.

She’s currently reading El mensaje de Pandora by Javier Sierra and listening to ‘Gloria’ by Laura Branigan upon waking every day. She considers Miracle in Cell No.7 to be her favourite movie ever.

Friends are super important to Rossana. “Without friends, the world would not be the same,” she believes. “It would be a lonely world. We would be very lonely people without giving or receiving love and it would be a completely different world.”

One thing is for sure: the world is a much lovelier place with her in it.
