“It's noice, it's different, it's unusual” were the first thoughts that popped into our heads when we laid eyes on the new Lee Mathews collection. And yes, we thought it in a very Kath and Kim voice. To celebrate her 20th year at MBFWA, Lee took a look through old collections for inspiration, and so the shapes and styles that are central to the Lee Mathews DNA were there, but they weren’t without a few modern updates. Prints were loud and proud, silhouettes were experimental, and ruffles, utilitarian pockets and sheer poplin all existed alongside each other in perfect harmony. ‘Twas truly a delight.
Our guy Miguel Urbina Tan popped bacsktage to peep all the action, and as your eyeballs should be able to attest by flicking through the above gallery, there was many a beautiful sight to behold. Headbands kept casually done locks off fresh faces, pearly whites were flashed, and I dare you to find us a more angelic group shot than the last pic.
Thanks for getting us pumped to get dressed all these years, LM. Here’s to the next 20!
