Going Backstage at NYFW With Photographer Stephanie Geddes

New York

— September 21, 2021 —

Aaaand just like that, the first New York Fashion week to happen since February 2020 has come to pass. After 20 months of on-again-off-again lockdowns, the chance to be in-person, and have an excuse to dress up for something beyond the kitchen table and park walks, led to one helluva joyous atmosphere.

Aussie photographer Stephanie Geddes was there to capture the magic, shooting at NYFW for the first ever time, and going backstage at shows like Luar, Kenneth Nicholson, Puppets and Puppets, Fried Rice, and Willy Chavarria.

Among our favourite moments were: the block of cheese moonlighting as a hat and glittery mules at Puppets and Puppets; the soothing tonal tones and sculptural silhouettes at Three as Four; Kien Hong’s floral masterpiece casually sitting atop a models head; the impeccable street casting at Willy Chavarria; and model Faith’s magnetic smiles throughout the week.
