Fashion Friends Together Again: Street Style at Fashion Week

Gadigal Land

— May 18, 2022 —

Fashion weeks come and go but you know what's forever? Style, baby. With a slate of official shows at Carriageworks and a handful of special off-site presentations, Afterpay Australian Fashion Week 2022 delivered both on quantity and quality.

There was a special kind of vibe in the air: at times it felt very clear that it was the year 2022 — TikTokers and new faces flitting between shows and huddling under umbrellas thanks to the decidedly tropical end-of-Autumn climate bringing rainshowers every other day. At other times it was just old friends on familiar ground, some reuniting after years of social distance living in different countries and even on different continents.

One thing united the crowd: the typically top-notch street style on offer. It being Sydney, home to some of the more body-conscious dressers among us earthlings, there were plenty of crop tops and cutouts. It being fashion, there were plenty of oversized blazers and all-out accessorising. Our highlights include Isabella Manfredi's impeccable creamy R.M. Williams suede set — accessorised with ginormous hoop earrings — and Rob Tennent looking like a real vision in pastel blue Paris Georgia.

Live vicariously by scrolling through our gallery of CPC creatives and familiar faces. You'll see Rob and Isabella, as well as some of our creative friends, Daphne Nguyen, Miguel Urbina Tan and Teanne Vickers, plus Roshan Ramesh, Jasmine O'Neill, Reem Elnour and Olympia Christou in a pair of stirrup jeans that will change your mind about stirrup jeans.
