Stine Goya’s Copenhagen FW Show Was Pure Joy

Copenhagen

— August 13, 2019 —

If we didn’t love talking so much, Stine Goya’s Copenhagen Fashion Week SS20 show would have rendered us speechless. Staged in an old gymnasium, the show was a true delight, eliciting a lot of 80s feels without ever feeling gaudy. There was not a dull moment throughout the entire show, with bright makeup complimenting vibrant colour palettes and bold decorations. All your favourite colours were thrown into the sartorial mix, from green, yellow, orange, pink and blue, and they were kept company by the funnest prints and accessories in all the lands (think polka dots, ruffled mini dresses, florals, disco heels and mismatched stockings). If you want to know what our dream dress looks like, scroll all the way to the end of the gallery!

Aside from being the brightest and boldest, Stine Goya was also by far the most inclusive show Copenhagen has ever seen. In lieu of a typical casting, the designer invited members of ballroom communities to appear on the runway, and partnered with Bumble to select women who applied through the app to walk as well. The results were spectacular and life-affirming, but quite frankly, should be the norm by now. Designers take note!

TY, Stine Goya! You sure know how to put a smile on our dials.
