After nine seasons of pure magic, 25-year-old Maggie Marilyn just showed her first ever runway collection at NZFW. And what a spectacular entrance onto the scene it was!
Housed in the Glasshouse in Auckland’s Morningside, the presentation was a pastel-saturated, plant-filled reminder that sustainable practices in the fashion industry are paramount. The floor was carpeted in lush green grass, there were hand-planted daisies aplenty, and tulips in pinks and oranges nestled alongside lemon trees and sunflowers. The clothes themselves were billowing, beautiful and eco-friendly, with Victoria-inspired ruffles, bias cut dresses, hip-grazing mini skirts and frilly embellishments taking centre stage.
Maggie’s kick-off speech (where she introduced her collection and thanked all those involved) and decision to show on home grown soil was the cherry on top of an already precious show. Lucky for CPC readers the world over, our gal Mana Mackay was there with her trusty film camera to catch all the mems, and you can find them hanging out in the gallery above.
Until next time, angels!
