One sunny day recently, we hung out with two bright young models, Charlotte and Ginger, on Gadigal land. The team included an international guest appearance (Dutch stylist and longtime CPC friend, Lotte Wierenga), while local superstar Britt Murphy jumped behind the lens. The vibes, as usual, were exceedingly high.
There was Prada and Celine. There was Bottega and some of our favourite local designers. And there was the hazy feeling of being in a coming-of-age film. After turning Lotte’s room at the Paramount Hotel into our own personal styling closet, we headed to Maroubra, armed with many a lewk, and chatted about all the important things—dogs, cats, yapping vs listening—before going deeper to explore how we can each make the most of our one wild and precious life, and what makes Charlotte and Ginger most proud of their generation.
Read on for a conversation that’ll make you proud as punch of humanity, no matter your age.
Charlotte
Where do you live, and where is home?
I live in Sydney with my grandmother, but I grew up in Singapore and only recently moved here last year, so that’s my home.
Where would you take someone visiting your city/town for the first time?
Probably either Orchard Road or Marina Bay; those are the two most touristy parts of SG. I used to live on Orchard Road, so I know it quite well. It’s the go-to hangout spot with friends whenever we get bored because it's always bustling with life.
How do you think your upbringing helped shape your worldview?
Because of how safe and small Singapore is, I’ve definitely grown up slightly more privileged and sheltered than others, so in a way, I feel like I have some catching up to do with my peers here in Sydney. On the other hand, I think coming from such a diverse country and being surrounded by multicultural people daily has really benefited me and helped me grow as a person.
What does an average day these days look like?
Quite boring, actually! I make some coffee, catch up on messages, go to uni if it’s a school day, and if there’s a modelling job, I’ll be there talking everybody’s ears off. Then there's the lying in bed, maybe playing some video games if my friend wants to.
What is your idea of happiness?
Being surrounded by my family (+cats) and friends! After moving away from them, I’ve realized just how important my people are to me and how much I need them in my life. So, definitely having them with me, no matter the context, always makes me happiest.
What is it about your generation that makes you most proud?
I would say our open-mindedness. There’s been real progress with the acceptance and understanding of things that used to be shunned—sexuality, gender, race, mental health, etc. I’m also proud of how we stand up for important global issues and advocate for change.
What is the coolest thing you learned recently?
That you can make diamonds out of peanut butter (??? What the hell, this is so cool???).
When do you feel the most 'you'?
When I’m on stage, probably. My mum grew up as a dancer and theatre kid, so that’s transferred to me. I grew up singing and playing piano, and in 2023, I had a lead role in our school’s musical. I don’t think anything can compare to that feeling of stepping out, ready to perform. I’ve actually joined the Musical Theatre club at uni in hopes I can experience that feeling again.
Do you identify as...
A cat or dog person?
Cat person for sure. I have four cats back home in Singapore and FaceTime them every week (I have screenshots as proof).
Someone who loves to watch the sunrise or the sunset?
I think, just because I’m not a morning person, I’ll say sunset. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to wake up early enough to see the sunrise.
A yapper or a listener?
I think everybody who’s ever met me can answer this with the confidence: I am 100% a yapper. My ability to yap is unprecedented.
What's the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
To be completely honest, the first thing I do is check my phone. I’ve got lots of friends in different time zones, so they’re most active online while I’m asleep, which means I get to wake up to their messages.
How do you like to unwind after a long day?
I love crashing in my bed on my phone with music playing in the background. I’ll either be reading fanfiction or watching TikTok/YouTube—just some classic mind-numbing entertainment. Back home, I would probably have my cat lying with me.
What are you most looking forward to for the rest of 2025?
Pretty much everything! One thing for sure is my modelling career, though. I’m super excited about the direction it’s going because it’s a whole new experience for me, and so far it’s been brilliant. I get to meet so many new people and make friends, which is something I really enjoy.
How can we make the most of our time on Earth?
I think the only way to really make the most out of life is through the ‘YOLO’ mindset. Be impulsive, do stupid things, face the consequences, and then move on to the next great thing.
Ginger
Where do you live, and where is home?
I am a born-and-bred Sydney girl.
Where would you take someone visiting your city/town for the first time?
There are a few nice places to explore in Sydney. Some of my favourites are the beautiful headland walks along the coast of the eastern suburbs and some of my secret local swimming spots!
How do you think your upbringing helped shape your worldview?
Having both parents serve in the military, and both coming from different cultural backgrounds, has helped me develop a balanced understanding of social justice and inclusivity within the community.
What does an average day look like these days?
Waking up early for a workout, going into uni for my classes, and then maybe catching up with friends.
What is your idea of happiness?
Living life to the fullest and appreciating the little things. Being outdoors, playing with my pets, and seeing my friends is my happy pill.
What is it about your generation that makes you most proud?
I think my generation has been through many changes and adaptations in society. I’m proud of how we stayed connected during difficult times, such as COVID, even if it was through our screens. I’m also proud of how we are socially aware of what’s around us, such as climate change and mental health.
What is the coolest thing you’ve learned recently?
I recently did a DNA test and discovered that I have Native American ancestry, which I didn’t know about.
When do you feel the most 'you'?
Spending quality time with my friends and chatting about life with them.
Do you identify as...
A cat or dog person?
Both! I’ve always grown up with a cat and a dog, so it’s far too difficult to choose. They both have their pros and cons.
Someone who loves to watch the sunrise or the sunset?
I’d like to think I prefer sunrise, but I probably lean more toward sunset.
A yapper or a listener?
Definitely a listener. I love helping people through difficult times and am interested in psychology.
What's the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
Not going to lie, I reach for my phone.
How do you like to unwind after a long day?
I’ll be honest, I’m a doom scroller after a long day with a cup of tea next to me.
What are you most looking forward to for the rest of 2025?
Hopefully doing some traveling overseas to new destinations and finishing my first year of University.
How can we make the most of our time on Earth?
By being kind to everyone you meet, as you don’t know what others are going through.
