New Zealand Fashion Week might be officially done and dusted, but we're not ready to let it go just yet 🥲
We already gave you the highlights reel to end all highlights reels, plus snuck you backstage at some of the standout shows. Now we're getting personal, with some of backstage's sweetest creatives spilling their own behind-the-scenes tea.
First up: Photographer on the rise Felix Jackson. Known for his serene-yet-playful fashion photos and ridiculously charming energy, if there's one person you want camped out backstage with, it's him. Favourite part of being at fashion week: The chats! Getting to know or reconnect with people in the industry who you share chemistry and camaraderie with. It’s the one week of the year when we’re all orbiting each other within such close proximity.
Least favourite: A lack of sleep and questionable meals.
Something that would shock some people outside the industry: The number of outfit changes for front row attendees and the pre planning involved.
Fav show to shoot: So hard!! They all did different things. For the visuals, Zambesi and Claudia Li. Karen Walker for the great vibes and well organised chaos, that was a lot of fun. And Beach Brains because I was making notes of everything I wanted to buy.
Fav model: The fantastic Alex Cater and I found out we have a lot of shared friends and at the Zambesi show we got to talking about our shared friends pet sheep and I had to stop and take the moment in.
How do I decompress after a packed schedule: I chew all my flatmates ears off with tales of the day before a hot shower and bed. I also had a Viking history podcast that I listened to while editing and decompressing in pockets throughout the week.
