Last night marked the opening of the first iteration of Wellington Biennial, Common Material. A celebration of contemporary design from Aotearoa's capital, and a big deal given fashion events tend to gravitate north to Auckland.
We were there backstage before the JPalm show, meeting the local model lineup decked out and ready to take the runway at City Gallery Wellington Te Whare Toi.
We met up-and-coming face Aylish Inwood, snapped Otto Wiig alongside his māmā Jessica Godfrey, and left seriously inspired by the most intricate braids we've seen in a long time.
It was a proper reminder of just how much creative talent is sitting right here in Pōneke.
