Akual-Chels Ring

Akual’s face will blow you away — it is truly a thing of beauty. She’s from Sudan, but was raised across Sydney, Sweden and Egypt, which goes a long way in explaining why it’s so obvious that she feels completely “comfortable as an individual”. Aside from work committments, her fam travelled so much simply because they loved “experiencing different places”. She lived in Egypt for more than five years, and feels like it’s her “third home”, ‘cause pretty much all her childhood friends are from there. If she were to go back, she’d visit the Pyramids before catching up with her loved ones. Solid itinerary! 

Wearing colour makes her smile — a great thing for the world, considering how infectious her set of pearly whites are. She thinks all the travelling as a youngen made her grow faster than her age, made her feel more knowledgeable in different cultures, and helped her to “appreciate each individual, ‘cause I feel there’s a story behind that person.” Yeppo. The best advice she’s ever received is “life is too short, enjoy what you have, don’t take anything for granted.” Aka, the older generation’s version of ‘YOLO’. She knows that when she’s 90-years-old, she’ll look back and say, “When I was 21, I was a model and it was fun!” 

On the topic, she doesn’t see modelling as work, instead as a lifestyle where she gets to hang out with legends and express herself through fashion. She recently walked for Romance Was Born at MBFWA, and ended up taking the catwalk in her favourite piece from their collection — this sick suit! She got to trial a few of their crazy wigs, and is now a bit of a convert, saying she’d def consider wearing a cray-zay wig now and again. The first thing she does when she wakes is yawn (lol), before heading to the bathroom and washing her face, and the best product in her beauty arsenal is rosehip oil. Fresh. 

She’d love her legacy to be the following: “That I never take no for answer. If one door closes, I'm always finding another door to open, ‘cause that's what life is — you grow. The more I diversify into different things, the more I feel I'm gonna grow as a person.” What. A. Legend.
