Spring Is Officially on the Menu! We Celebrate With Sunshine & Chanel

Sydney

— September 19, 2020 —

Hoorah! After ushering winter out the door as if it were a house guest who had severely overstayed their welcome, our dethawed toes are happy to announce that spring is officially on the menu down here in the Southern Hemisphere. Slipping into a t-shirt and shorts to give our limbs a shot of Vitamin D never felt so sweet.

To mark the change in season, we packed a bunch of swimsuits into the car and (safely, in accordance with the law) sped down to the closest jetty we could find to frolic about in the sun. That jetty happened to belong to beautiful harbour bay, Camp Cove, the swimsuits Chanel and the frolicker, your new favourite Sydney tour guide, model Inez

After throwing many glorious shapes in front of CPC contributor Sarah Ellen’s lens, Inez shared all her hot spots to swim, graze, imbibe and people watch in Sydney. You can read all about them in 3, 2, 1…

Where are you from and where are you based right now?
I was born and have always lived in Sydney, but all my family are kiwis!

What does your ideal summer day in Sydney look like?
My ideal summer day would be spending the day at Gordon’s Bay, listening to music and relaxing in the sunshine with the people closest to me.

Top three places to eat, drink and shop in Sydney?
My favourite place to eat is definitely Gelbison in Bondi! I’ve been going since I was two-years-old and the pizza is the best I have ever had. (Even better than in Rome!). My favourite place to shop is Glebe Markets to see the range of clothes, and my favourite place to drink is at Mamasan while listening to some of the best musicians on a Sunday night.

Where would you take someone visiting for the first time?
I would take them to Bondi Saturday Markets for an amazing breakfast, followed by a walk along the beach, and then ending with an afternoon picnic at McMahons Point for the most beautiful view of the Harbour Bridge.

How do you unwind?
To unwind, I sit on the balcony with my dog Ruffy, cuddling him while listening to Miles Davis or playing guitar.

Best coffee in Sydney can be found at...
The Organic Republic Bakery—they make their own almond milk and the coffee is amazing!

Best place to read a book/magazine is...
At Rushcutters Bay by the water, quietly hoping one of the many cute puppies there will come up to you.

Spend an afternoon walking in/around...
The Chinese Garden of Friendship.

The best cheap feed can be found at...
Burger 10 in Randwick. $10 for my favourite nachos!

And to treat yourself, go to...
Bodhi with the widest range of vegan dumplings I’ve ever eaten.

Swim at...
Gordon’s Bay

Go for an afternoon cocktail at...
Icebergs, of course.

For brunch the next day, go to...
Not Just Coffee in Paddington (the avo and moroccan mushroom on toast is to die for).

Cutest date day consists of...
Spending the morning at the Art Gallery of NSW with a picnic at The Royal Botanic Gardens, finishing at Newtown for a bite to eat and an ice cream from my favourite vegan ice cream place Gelato Blue.
